Muchelo Foundation Commits to Education: Set to Renovate Dilapidated Classrooms in Five Local Primary Schools

Published: December 16, 2025 By: MCF Admin

The Muchelo Foundation today announced a major intervention in the local education sector, confirming plans to renovate and fully refurbish dilapidated classroom blocks in five selected public primary schools within our Local Area Council. This project aims to transform unsafe and unconducive learning environments into modern, safe spaces that foster quality education for hundreds of pupils.

Details of the Intervention

The renovation project, tagged Safe Schools Initiative, will focus on structural repairs and improvements in the most critical areas of the selected schools.

The planned scope of work includes:

  • Roofing and Ceiling: Replacement of damaged and leaking roofs and ceilings to protect students from rain and sun.

  • Structural Integrity: Reinforcement of walls, replacement of broken doors and windows to ensure safety and security.

  • Conducive Learning: Application of new paint, installation of functional lighting, and provision of new desks and chairs in classroom blocks across the five schools.

Every child deserves a safe, inspiring place to learn. For too long, the condition of these classrooms has undermined the dedication of our teachers and the potential of our pupils. Our renovation is a commitment not just to infrastructure, but to the dignity and future of our community's children. By providing a proper learning environment, we are investing directly in improved attendance, higher academic engagement, and better community pride.

The renovation work is scheduled to commence on 2nd Feb., 2026 and is expected to be completed in time for the  next academic term.

Call for Community Support

The Foundation is calling on parents, community leaders, and local businesses to support the project by ensuring the safety of the work sites and committing to the long-term maintenance of the refurbished facilities. The success of this project is a win for the entire community.
